Visit Kyoto's ``Ise Jingu'' and ``Izumo Taisha'' on a pilgrimage to two major power spots in Kyoto

Ise Jingu and Izumo Taisha. It is a well-known fact that the two largest shrines are located in Mie and Shimane prefectures, respectively. However, Kyoto also has Ise Grand Shrine and Izumo Taisha Shrine. Two such shrines are Hyuga Daijingu in Keage, Kyoto, and Izumo Daijingu in Kameoka. Unlike shrines crowded with tourists such as Yasaka Shrine, Kamigamo Shrine, and Shimogamo Shrine, these two shrines are enveloped in a solemn tranquility. It is also true that it is a shrine known only to those in the know as a powerful power spot. I visited two such shrines.

"Ise-san from Kyoto``Hyuga Daijingu Shrine,'' also known as ``Hyuga Daijingu,'' is about a 10-minute walk from Keage Station on the Tozai Subway Line.15The shrine is located just a short distance away in a straight line. Founded5End of the century,23It is said to be the reign of Emperor Daikenso. Like Ise Grand Shrine, there are ``Geku'' and ``Naiku'' within the precincts, and like Ise Grand Shrine, visitors visit the shrine in the order of ``Shimogu'' and ``Naiku.'' There are also many shrines dotted within the precincts, including Sarutahiko Shrine and Fukuto Shrine. Combined with the dense trees that surround it, it has a solemn atmosphere, and it is no wonder that it is said to be a powerful power spot.

Hyuga Daijingu Shrine is one of the oldest shrines in Kyoto. The two shrine buildings visible on the right side of the precincts are the Geku. The inner shrine is built in the back.

``Inner Shrine'' and ``Shimogu'' are built in the same Shinmei style as ``Ise Grand Shrine.''

The shrine buildings of the ``Inner Shrine'' and ``Geku'' are built in the Shinmei style, similar to Ise Grand Shrine, and are of high status. In particular, the simple appearance of the Naiku, where Amaterasu Omikami is enshrined, indicates that this building is an extremely early form of shrine architecture. This appearance reminds people of Ise Jingu, and for that reason, since the early Edo period,Ise-san from Kyoto” has been called. Also, because it is close to the Tokaido, many travelers traveling along the highway visited the shrine to pray along the way, and a teahouse was also set up at the entrance to the shrine.

The simple appearance of the inner shrine, with no decorations, shows the ancient status of the shrine.

The deity enshrined at Fukudo Shrine is Okuninushi no Mikoto, the god of marriage. He writes his wishes on a pottery (kawarake) and offers it to the shrine.

In the depths of the Naiku is the Ama no Iwato.

At the back of the Naiku is a cave hollowed out in the middle of a huge rock called ``Ama no Iwato.'' This cave, which curves at right angles inside, is not a dead end, and a person can bend down and crawl out from one entrance to the other. Climbing through the hole is said to purify sins and impurities and bring good fortune, and is also called ``Nukemairi.'' Many people say that this ``Ama no Iwato'' is a powerful power spot.

Worship the distant Ise Grand Shrine from the Ise Shrine Yohaisho

Additionally, Hyuga Daijingu Shrine has the Ise Jingu Harukaisho, where you can worship towards Ise Jingu in Mie Prefecture. Walk up the slope to the right of Kanda Inari Shrine, which is located in front of the long stone steps.15After climbing for about a minute, you will reach the place of worship. Far in the middle of the torii gate at the top of the mountain is the direction of Ise Grand Shrine, and it has been said that worshiping from a distance from here is an alternative to visiting Ise Shrine. The existence of ``Inner Shrine'', ``Geku'', and this ``Ise Shrine Yohaisho'' makes ``Hyuga Daijingu Shrine'' known as ``Hyuga Daijingu''.Ise-san from KyotoIt is said that it was made into a shrine that is loved by people.

Hyuga Daijingu Shrine is also known as a scenic spot for viewing cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. The road from Keage subway station is a steep slope, but it is one of the power spots that you should definitely visit.

Izumo Grand Shrine
“Tambakuniichinomiya” is said to be older than Izumo Taisha in Shimane.

Izumo Daijingu Shrine, located in Kameoka City, is also called ``Moto Izumo'' and is said to be older than Izumo Taisha Shrine in Shimane. According to the company biography, the founding was8At the beginning of the century, the chief priest Masaru Iwata``Mikageyama,'' which rises behind the main shrine, has been deeply revered as a sacred mountain since ancient times. It is a place where nature itself is a blessing from the gods, so to speak.''

Towering in the background on the right is Mt. Mikage, which has been worshiped as a sacred mountain since ancient times.

The name also appears in "Tsurezuregusa"
Izumo Grand Shrine

The name "Izumo Daijingu" also appears in "Tsurezuregusa" written in the Kamakura period, and the main shrine, which is said to have been repaired by Takauji Ashikaga, has been designated as an important cultural property. It is a shrine that gives you a sense of its dignity. Until the Edo period, Izumo was said to refer to ``Izumo Daijingu,'' whose main shrine was located in Tamba, and for this reason the name ``Moto-Izumo'' still remains today.

The main shrine of Izumo Daijingu Shrine is mentioned in "Tsurezuregusa" as "There is a place called Izumo in Tamba, and a shrine was transferred there to make it auspicious."

Numerous power spots are dotted in the sacred forest at the back of the main shrine.

The sacred forest that spreads out at the back of the main shrine has a solemn atmosphere that resembles a dignified tension. Mikageyama itself, which towers behind the shrine, is the object of worship, and the forest that extends from the object of worship is natural, so it is natural that the area is filled with a dignified atmosphere. Worshipers are greeted by the shrines of the gods enshrined here and there along the approach that leads deep into the forest.

The mountains of Mt. Mikage are dotted with Iwakura. Iwaza is a rock where a god resides. The Japanese people have believed that gods reside in all things in nature, and have offered pious prayers to giant trees and megaliths in particular. Mt. Mikage, which is dotted with Iwaza, is truly a mountain where gods live, and such a mountain bestows intense power on those who visit it.

The approach to the shrine that leads to the shrine behind the main shrine. You can already feel the solemn atmosphere near the entrance to the shrine.

The huge rock that sits in the shrine is the source of power. Truly a “power spot”

A particularly large rock with a shimenawa wrapped around it came into view. Iwaza is one of the most popular power spots in Kyoto. Height is adult height2More than double. Its overwhelming presence is truly a power spot. The shimenawa ropes strung all over the place add to the solemn atmosphere.

This gigantic stone has existed at its current location since before the shrine building was built, and has been revered as an object of faith. A huge rock suddenly appears among the lush trees. Its power is said to attract various connections.

It is said to be the Iwaza that makes wishes come true, and some people come from far and wide to visit it many times.

The ``Manai water'' that springs from Mt. Mikage is medium-hard water with a good mineral balance, and its excellent composition has been scientifically proven. This is also one of the powerful power spots.

A cute rabbit made of stone will welcome you and see you off.

The sacred festival at Izumo Daijingu Shrine is Okuninushi no Mikoto. The animal associated with Okuninushi no Mikoto is, of course, the rabbit. In front of the first torii gate, a charming stone rabbit greets worshipers and sends them off. It's true that I feel relieved for some reason when I come across an adorable rabbit after visiting a power spot. Okuninushi no Mikoto is also said to be the god of marriage. Said to be the best power spot in Kyoto, it is sure to bring you a good match.

This rabbit is named ``Happy Nade Rabbit,'' and it is said that if you stroke its body, it will bring you happiness. This rabbit is named ``Happy Nade Rabbit,'' and it is said that if you stroke its body, it will bring you happiness.
