What is the traditional Japanese color "rapeseed flower color"?
Rape blossom color is a vibrant yellow-greenish yellow reminiscent of rapeseed petals. It is a relatively new color name, and is one of the few color names derived from the name of a flower, along with yellow-striped yellow, which is also in the yellow family. Rape is a one- or two-year-old plant in the Brassicaceae family, and has long been cultivated in Japan to extract rapeseed oil from its seeds. Originally, the mainstream was the native rapeseed introduced from China, but since the Meiji period, Western rapeseed varieties with higher yields have become more common.
