What is the traditional Japanese color "Fujinezumi"?
Fujinezumi-iro is a soft purple with a bluish tint that is a greyish-grey shade of wisteria. Since the Edo period, it has been widely used as a color for women's kimonos in particular, and was popular many times from the mid-Meiji period through to the Taisho period. Around 27, it was also known as "Shinkomai-iro" and was featured in the magazine Miyako no Hana, which introduced fashionable clothing. Furthermore, it is said to have gained popularity as a collar and ground color for Japanese clothing in 1894.

In Aya Koda's autobiographical novel "Kimono," which depicts the life of a woman living in the Taisho period, there are frequent descriptions of a kimono that is a light gray color. "Fujinezumi" is pronounced "fujinezumi."
