What is the traditional Japanese color "Kabairo"?
It refers to a deep yellow-red color similar to the color of the bark of the birch cherry tree and the cattails of the cattail. The birch is a perennial plant that lives in ponds and marshes all over Japan, and in summer it grows flower stalks from among the leaves, with cattails at the end of the stalks. On the other hand, there is a theory that it originates from the bark of the birch cherry tree, but since the color of the birch cherry tree is brown, the yellow-red cattail color is more in line with the characteristics of the birch color.
