Torinoko color, a light yellow-brown like an eggshell, is a color close to a pale cream. This traditional color is also used in the high-quality washi paper "Torinoko paper." Torinoko paper refers to thick washi paper made from the raw material gampi, and is a traditional color name that has been used since the Heian period. Torinoko color, which comes from the color of eggshells rather than chicks, is sometimes mixed with "tamagoiro," but tamagoiro is a color name that represents the color of egg yolks.
