Forget-me-not is a type of forget-me-not that is native to Europe and produces soft blue-purple flowers from spring to summer. "Forget me not" is an English translation of the words of the main character in a tragic love legend poem written by a medieval German poet. In Japan, it is said that the name was given by the botanist Takiya Kawakami with the meaning of ``forgetting grass''.

 

Forget-me-nots, which have a somewhat sad and ephemeral feel to them, often appear in the titles and lyrics of songs sung by Japanese artists.
