Aiming to transform the current mainstream "fashion" where designers stand at the top of the pyramid, MIZEN, which proposes new luxury fashion that puts technology at the center, has collaborated with Nishiyama Sangyo Kaihatsu, which deals in Ushiku Tsumugi, a traditional craft of Ishikawa Prefecture. The "Ushiku Tsumugi x MIZEN Hakusan Store <Kaganooriza>" has opened as the first step in turning the technology nurtured in this area into a brand and building a new form of fashion.

Ushiku Tsumugi is a fabric woven primarily from "tama-mayu", a cocoon made by two silkworms working together. The thread spun from the tama-mayu is characterized by two threads intricately intertwined and unique knots in the weft direction, and is known for being extremely strong and durable.

In addition to kimono bolts, the new store will sell original accessories and miscellaneous goods made with Ushiku Tsumugi, and will also offer special experiences that allow customers to experience the charm of Ushiku Tsumugi. One of these experiences is custom orders. Customers can choose their favorite bolt of fabric from the overwhelming variety available only at the weaver, and order a one-of-a-kind garment that combines it with MIZEN's sophisticated designs.
Also, exclusively at the new store, they will be offering a "Ushiku Tsumugi Remake Service" where they will tailor your existing Ushiku Tsumugi kimono or bolts of fabric into a shirred coat.

Other experience options available include a "thread spinning experience" where you spin thread from the "tama-mayu" (cocoons) that are the most distinctive feature of Ushiku Tsumugi, a "weaving experience" where you weave real Ushiku Tsumugi on a loom normally used by craftsmen, and a "coaster-making experience."

"Ushiku Tsumugi x MIZEN Hakusan Store <Kaganooriza>" is not just a place for shopping, but a place where you can experience spiritual richness by experiencing handicrafts and the presence of people. Why not enjoy a precious experience that can only be had here?
