Credor Gold Feather inherits the tradition of Seiko's thin mechanical watches, but has been updated with specifications and a design suitable for a modern dress watch. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the brand's founding, a limited edition model has been released that showcases two masterful techniques: lacquer art and metal engraving. Only 10 pieces will be available from Friday, October 25th.
The Gold Feather UTD Skeleton Limited Edition is a sophisticated fusion of lacquer art by Isshu Tamura, a master of Kaga Maki-e, and the engraving techniques cultivated by Credor's engraving studio.
The design is inspired by the stately appearance of an eagle. The eagle's boldness is expressed through a stylish ruthenium-finished engraved movement and a plate painted with maki-e on lacquer.
The feathers dancing in the jet-black lacquer are expressed by Tamura by carefully sprinkling gold and platinum powder one by one. The delicate Maki-e, which even captures the nuances of the feathers, is amazingly drawn freehand with a refined sense.
Both sides of the skeleton movement are engraved with beautiful, lustrous feather patterns, combining two types of engraving: "grained" engraving that creates a soft atmosphere and "mirror" engraving that creates a sharp outline.
With a thickness of just 1.98mm, the ultra-thin movement, suitable for a luxury mechanical watch, is entirely assembled, adjusted and casing-assembled by highly skilled watchmakers at the Shizukuishi Luxury Watch Workshop.
This watch expresses the insatiable pursuit of beauty through traditional Japanese craftsmanship. This masterpiece, which marks the final chapter of the 1th anniversary commemorations, is sure to be loved for generations to come.
