Chivas Regal Takumi Reserve 12 Year is an innovative product that is made by finishing a portion of the Chivas Regal Scotch whisky blend in sake casks (aging barrels) made from Masuizumi, a famous sake from Toyama Prefecture. It was released in Japan on Tuesday, September 2024, 9, as an Asian market exclusive product.
The new product "Chivas Regal Takumi Reserve 12 Year" is a first in the Scotch whisky industry, made using an innovative method that uses "sake casks (aging barrels)," and was created through a process that goes back and forth between Scotland and Toyama Prefecture. First, the oak barrels used to age Chivas Regal whisky are sent from Scotland to Masuda Sake Brewery, a representative brewery in Toyama, where the famous sake "Masuizumi" is aged. These special barrels are then sent back to Scotland, and in the final process, a portion of the Chivas Regal blend that has been aged for over 12 years is added to finish the product.
You can enjoy the rich harmony of the rich and mellow taste of Chivas Regal and its delicate and fruity aroma. We recommend drinking it simply on the rocks, straight or as a highball, so you can enjoy the aroma of the sake.
To commemorate the early release of Chivas Regal Takumi Reserve 12 Year in Japan, a campaign is currently being held on the official X account (@ChivasRegalJP) until Thursday, October 2024, 10. One lucky person will be chosen every day to receive a full bottle of Chivas Regal Takumi Reserve 31 Year, and four pairs of eight lucky people will be chosen to participate in a tour of Masuizumi/Masuda Sake Brewery in Toyama Prefecture.
