Hoshinoya Fuji, located in Yamanashi, the birthplace of wine in Japan, will be holding the "Glamorous Grape Stay" event from August 2024th to September 8th, 25, where guests can choose their own grapes and wine and have a chef prepare a gourmet meal for them.
Yamanashi is the number one grape producing region in Japan, and produces a wide variety of wines, including those made with the indigenous Japanese grape variety Koshu and Muscat Bailey A. This plan allows you to enjoy the unique charms of this grape producing region.
Grape picking will take place at Budou Senshin, a grape farm that is dedicated to growing grapes. After enjoying the harvest while learning from the farm owner about how grapes are grown and the differences in taste depending on the variety, you will move to Katsunuma Winery, which was founded in 1937. In the tasting room, which is not open to the public, you will hear directly from the wine maker about the differences in wine making methods and the history of wine, and choose your favorite bottle.
The chefs at Hoshinoya Fuji will prepare dishes that make the most of the color, texture, sweetness, and juiciness of the grapes harvested in this way. In addition, sommeliers will suggest wine pairings, including those selected at the winery.
The "Grape Pairing Dinner," in which grapes take center stage, is served at a special table on the Cloud Terrace, where you can feel one with the surrounding trees. In this place surrounded by nature, you can leisurely savor the wine and grapes you have chosen.
After enjoying dinner, enjoy a relaxing bath with Hoshinoya Fuji's original grape herbal bath, made from grape skins and seeds that are left over from the winemaking process. The herbal bath, which contains ingredients such as polyphenols and natural herbal medicines, gently spreads the aroma of wine and warms you to the core.
Why not try out this experience to enjoy the flavors and scenery that can only be enjoyed when Yamanashi's famous grapes are in season?
