The Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Villa will host a special dinner called "Tanabata Night: The Ultimate Feast," where guests can enjoy special Wagyu beef and champagne that can only be enjoyed at the Okura Tokyo. The event will be held for six days only, from July 2024th (Fri) to 7th (Sun) and from July 5th (Fri) to 7th (Sun), 12.
The biggest attraction is the opportunity to taste two of the Okura Tokyo's proud delicacies, "Okura Beef" and "Pommery Brut Okura Aged."
"Okura Beef" is a female Tajima breed cow raised at Matsunaga Farm in Shimane Prefecture, a pioneer in recycling-based agriculture. In addition to its rich flavor and sweetness, it has the distinctive, fragrant, long-lasting aroma that is unique to Japanese beef. This special beef will be served charcoal-grilled at this fair. With excess fat removed, you can enjoy the concentrated flavor.
Another attractive feature is that you can enjoy free-flowing "Pommery Brut Okura Aged," which is aged in Okura Tokyo's dedicated aging cellar located within the Pommery Maison Cave in Champagne, France.
Other dishes that will be available include appetizers using conger eel and Kamigamo tomatoes, ingredients that are representative of summer in Kyoto; a dish of blue lobster carefully selected by the head chef, which will be finished in front of guests by pouring seafood soup over it; and a special Tanabata-themed dessert, all of which reflect the season.
