Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya, a hot spring inn where you can fully enjoy Aomori culture, will be offering a three-day, two-night independent study plan called "Summer Vacation Aomori Nebuta Festival Stay" from August 2024st, 8rd, and 1th, 3, where guests can experience and learn about the Aomori Nebuta Festival.
The Aomori Nebuta Festival is one of Japan's most famous fire festivals, where magnificent "Nebuta" floats parade through the town. This plan not only lets you experience up close the passionate festival that the people of Aomori have dedicated their lives to, but also allows you to deepen your understanding of Japanese culture and festival culture through various events.
Michinoku Matsuriya hosts a show every night that lets you feel the excitement of a festival.
On the first day, participants will have advance learning on how to enjoy the Aomori Nebuta Festival to the fullest. They will also learn how to dance the "Haneto" dancers who enliven the festival, practice the festival music, and watch the shows of Aomori's four major festivals at the show venue "Michinoku Matsuriya," building up excitement for the festival the next day.
On the second day of the Aomori Nebuta Festival, before leaving, you will try your hand at making a Nebuta mask. Afterwards, you will head to the festival and interview "festival maniacs" who love festivals. After that, you will finally participate in the Aomori Nebuta Festival as a dancer. By interacting with people who are serious about the festival and feeling the power of the floats and festival music unfolding before your eyes, you will have a special experience that goes beyond just watching a festival.
A notebook exclusive to this plan: "My Nebuta Independent Research"
On the third and final day, participants will write down what they felt and learned throughout their stay in a notebook exclusive to this plan, completing their independent research. The notebook can be submitted as an independent research project for school, so it is also appealing to be able to work on independent research while enjoying the trip.
The Haneto Road is located in the one and only guest room, the Aomori Nebuta Room. Even first-time visitors can take the Haneto steps by following the footprints drawn on the floor.
