Sumida Aquarium is a place where you can encounter a wide variety of creatures, including a large aquarium that depicts the beautiful ocean of the Ogasawara Islands, the only World Heritage Site in Tokyo, Magellanic penguins living in an indoor open-air penguin pool, and jellyfish floating in a fantastical space.

This afternoon tea will feature sweets inspired by eight of the 7000 creatures that live at Sumida Aquarium.

Each of the sweets captures the adorable characteristics of living creatures, such as the "Seahorse Shortcake" which depicts a seahorse stretching its body out of the sand, the "Jellyfish Jelly Mousse" which imitates the jellyfish cushion, a famous souvenir from Sumida Aquarium, and the "Sea Turtle Toad" which is inspired by the baby green sea turtles, an endangered species that are being carefully raised at Sumida Aquarium.

For savory dishes, we have a salad made with ingredients from Ogasawara. The salad, which is made with quinoa, chia seeds, seaweed, and a sable made with Ogasawara salt, is topped with a jelly flavored with dashi, and has a refreshing taste that is perfect for summer.

In addition, they also offer a night afternoon tea from 18pm on weekdays only. This menu includes the regular afternoon tea, a limited edition cocktail (you can also change it to a mocktail) called "Jelly Fish Squash", two drinks of your choice, and a limited edition "Chokkon to Magellan Penguin Sugar".

The limited edition cocktail is inspired by the "Big Petri Dish," a huge water tank filled with about 500 moon jellyfish, one of the Sumida Aquarium's specialties. Add "glowing ice" to create a fantastical drink reminiscent of the inside of an aquarium tank at night.
