Spend a luxurious time at the Imperial Hotel with afternoon tea “OCHA” using Japanese tea from a long-established tea shop in Kyoto

Imperial Lounge Aqua on the 17th floor of the main building of the Imperial Hotel Tokyo is offering Afternoon Tea OCHA until June 6th (Sunday). In addition to serving tea from Kyoto's long-established Ippodo Tea House, which is used in the Imperial Hotel Tokyo's tea room "Tokoan," as drinks, it is a luxurious afternoon tea where you can enjoy the aroma and taste of Japanese tea in all menu items.

The "Afternoon Tea 'OCHA'" that will be offered this time will start with cold cold brewed Gyokuro as a welcome tea. In addition, you can enjoy Japanese tea from Ippodo Tea House, as well as black tea, herbal tea, and coffee from Imperial Hotel Select.

On the first tier, there's the ``Matcha Flan,'' which is baked brioche dough with a rich matcha flan scented with vanilla, and the ``Dome Citrus,'' a fromage blanc mousse with bracken mochi and citrus confiture. "Hojicha Ganache" is a combination of white chocolate ganache flavored with Hojicha, hazelnuts, pistachios, and marshmallows. ``Genmaicha eclairs'' where the aroma of genmaicha is brought out by the gravy.

On the second tier, shrimp and scallops marinated using roasted bancha are placed on top, topped with mango sauce, and ``marinated shrimp and scallops with green pea mousse and mango accents'' are served, along with caramel mixed with roasted green tea. In addition to the "Hojicha Caramel Latte & Black Soybean Flour Dumpling" which has a latte topped with a dumpling sprinkled with mitarashi and black soybean flour, there is also the "Beef and Potato Gratin Assi Parmentier Style".

On the third tier are the hotel's original ``Matcha scones'' made with matcha and white chocolate, and ``Colorful salad with the scent of matcha and lamb raisins.'' ``Pork Cutlet Hitsumabushi Style'' is a pork cutlet soaked in sesame-flavored sauce and placed on top of rice.
In addition, as a special dessert, ``Nuage Vert'' is a matcha ice cream with Ippodo Chaya's mellow matcha foam.

 

The hearty afternoon tea is highly satisfying even for men, and has an excellent balance of sweets and savory.


Also worth mentioning is the spacious Imperial Lounge Aqua. During the day, it becomes a lounge where you can enjoy sweets and meals while looking out at the greenery of Hibiya Park, and at night, it becomes a bar where you can enjoy original cocktails and famous sake while listening to live piano music and looking at the night view of Tokyo. Surrounded by a calm British-style atmosphere, you can experience a blissful afternoon tea that will make you forget about your daily life, with the best service and luxurious taste.
